Gruesome fun, wild kills, welcome back
It’s been 11 years since the last Final Destination movie (seriously, how?), but Bloodlines proves the franchise still has gas in the tank — and a whole new way to mess with our nerves. The premise? Still classic FD: someone has a premonition, people are saved, and then death’s like “cute, now watch this” and starts knocking them off in the most bonkers ways possible.
This time the twist? It’s not the main girl having the vision — it’s her grandma. And that little shake-up actually works. It ties the chaos into a family line (hence the Bloodlines title, clever), and gives the whole thing a fresh spin without messing with what we love about the series.
If you’ve seen the trailer, you know the big opener — the falling SkyView needle. Watching that scene play out in full is a true Final Destination moment: slow-burn tension, total carnage, and then… boom, chaos. The kills keep coming and they’re so good — creative, unexpected, and just dumb enough to make you laugh while you squirm.
There's also nice little nods to the OG films sprinkled throughout. Nothing too heavy-handed, but longtime fans will clock ‘em and smile.
We saw this in a packed cinema, and it made a difference. The sound mix is excellent, the crowed had a shared tension made the experience even more fun. This is one of those horror flicks that’s just better when everyone around you is jumping or laughing in sync.
✅ Super fun kills, great crowd energy
✅ Clever new spin with the family twist
✅ Awesome on the big screen
It’s a bloody good time. Fans of the series will love the new twist and inventive set pieces, and newcomers will get why this franchise has stuck around. Final Destination is officially back — and it hasn’t lost its edge (or its love for very sharp objects).
